Given that criminals aren't necessarily the cleverest members of society I prefer to use some form of misdirection to confuse the thieving scrotes, sticking loads of padlocks all over something just shouts out break in there's something expensive inside. I would do something like fasten the door up completely and hinge the whole front of the shed or use hidden hinges on the lock side of the door so it opens the wrong way.
