Just to let you know that I'm welding (see 'patching sill on a Pork'). I'd like to thank all who helped in this including Mark for the manual and Weldequip for the service kit that finally got the wire feeding through the SIP 130. Works great but I ended up adding a small nut to the end of the tensioner bolt. Anyway, here are my first practice welds including a couple without gas and some zero penetration efforts for your amusement.........

Thanks again,
Brian

Try moving the torch slower and from side to side (or even in little circles) as you move along. Results in a wider, flatter weld with more penetration and more chance of joining 2 bits together. Gas looks like it's on the low side with the blackening.
