We have a warm weather routine used by many folk in proper hot climes and I'm sure here. Get up ,open all external doors and windows until the external temp matches internal temp, close all doors and windows.
Can't understand folk who think opening windows is a good idea when it hot outside. " Oh ,lets open the window and let all that fresh air in" There isn't any !!

A battle I have with a colleague most days . . .

"there's no air in here" he say . . . my reply being he sounds like my grandma, who also seemed to thing the building was holding a perfect vacuum . . .

He visits a gym close to work on the way in - so when he wanders in, he's still glowing like the kid in the ReadyBrek ad - so being in a room at a nice temp for people sat at CAD stations feels like a furnace to him. And with his binary temp control - all windows (there's a lot) fully open, or fully shut, it gets a little irritating . . .

But my house is sat with all windows shut, curtains closed, at the moment - keeps it pretty cool through the day - but unfortunately with one of my cats wearing a cone collar thingie, I can't fully open any windows in the evening as she'll get out.

Over the last couple of summers, working from home, I had great success with draping anything white over the outside of the windows - reduce the sun/heat even getting to the glass in the first place, so it can't warm up anything.

Yesterday I thought I'd do the next leg of the Cleveland Way, to wit: Robin Hood's Bay to Scarborough. Then apathy set in and I couldn't be bothered.
Then I had a rethink and decided to take the car out for a spin; the damn thing had only done 230 miles since it's 2021 MOT.
Parked the TVR at RHB (£5 ) and set off... at 1245
Was warm, but the sun kept hiding behind a nice blanket of haze, which made it more tolerable (I got sunburn on the previous leg)... however the flies were out in force. The North Sea was a millpond, there was hardly anyone else walking, even the sheep couldn't be bothered to bleat. Fantastic.
Then, about halfway through the trip, somewhere south of Ravenscar, it was like a Wings song as the mist rolled in from the sea. Zero visibility east and only about 100 yards inland.
So I baled out at Scalby Mills, walked up to the A171 and had a swift Guinness in the Rosette before leaping aboard the X93 back to RHB, followed by a foggy drive back up past Whitby and over the Yorkshire Moors. The fog lifted up there, but was back at full strength when I got back into Teesside... and the mongtards all just had to reach for the fog light switch, which apparently means they can continue to drive at 80mph. If you can see that well, why put your fogs on and dazzle every 8u993r else?
Anyway, 14.3 miles and 1145 Calories burned later, I'm down to the last 15 miles or so of the CW...
