Ebay is a good place for practice material, but generally not cheap.

Otherwise try your local stockholder for offcuts.

Yep, fabricators are a good place for skip diving - it pays to ask permission first, and coffee/tea/biscuits for the canteen are a good idea too.

A fabricator and me became big friends doing that .
Also because he was my father's friend...
But essentially is true ,you go there starting talking you ask tips and advices etc
"You help me ,I help you "
Unfortunately my friend is dead on August 31 2018
But he left to me a good amount of tips and tricks but most importantly we passed good time together .
He became like an uncle for me
After his death I got some tools from his shop as remember of him and when I use them seems that he is with me .
Very proud of this , I'm not afraid to tell you that sometimes I cry thinking back to these moments .
