That'll be fun to do. Mine's still a pile of bits. Bloody heavy too. Can remember how long I had it laid on the floor before I could manage to lift it upright, on my tod. Even had to remove the counterweight in the column to be able to heft it up.

Yes they are a tidy weight. I had a bit of a ruck getting in the shed. I split mine then bolted together once I had it in place. Getting the top half on was a right nightmare.

I cant Imagine what anyone would do with junk like that nowadays, it was obsolete 40 years ago, nearly everywhere Ive ever worked has had a machinery graveyard full of stuff like this rusting away, I was once tasked with the job of clearing one, Machinery dealers just shook the heads and laughed so the lot was craned into into three 40 yard roll off skips and scrapped, best thing for it in my opinion.

Wrong ! Tiz a thing of beauty and if I could convince @gaz1 to build a belltower on the mancave roof to house the turret I would buy it. Many a good tune played on an old fiddle and all that , a fair few of the lads here still running kit from the early 1900`s Paul.

Some see is as junk. Fair enough. I see it as a very nice bit of old that's served it's time and still here. It's desperate for a workshop where it would be stripped and sorted.

That is one reason why kit like that is worth saving & restoring. We've already lost enough of it, and it's only "obsolete" if you're in a production environment where every minute is costed for.

THe belt tower is easy enough to build all depends on what you intend to spend

THough ive already got an extension for a car lift to do as the previous height of roof lift isnt long enough owner only wanted a tower area built for cars to be raised high enough on lift now it needs to be extended
