you certainly couldn't have worked that particular machine without gloves although the machining process was not manual, any way enough of that.

Here's an equally scary one I saw today. Nowhere near as fast rpm but no seat no guard and a great big pulley to get yourself tangled into.

I believe it was, the glass had a very yellowish tinge to it
