I still hate windows 10....its found an old bootstar

Essentially I know I have not installed Bootstar on my new SSD drives and it did not find it with the win 7 INSTALL.

Having fitted a new drive into a new Board and cpu and memory etc I fitted my old drives in as storage and so I can get rid of the crap amonst the small bits of useful stuff.
Anyway the system on boot up find bootstar from Star-Tools which is no longer in business.
I am sure I purchased a key for it way back in 2003 but cant find it now...so its resorting to its shareware nag screen. Adding a second on each time I reboot so we are now over 30 seconds and rising.

How the hell do I get rid of it!.....

Can you not just find the partition it's on and nuke it
Do you never format and clean up your drives?

I am trying...lol But everytime I boot it adds a second which soon mounts up.

Seems like I might have put the wrong disc in. As they were both 160 samsungs.

Anyway Microsoft cant leave nothing alone they have now converted the snipping tool to snip and sketch for gods sake. Argggg



So I have this disk layout in disk managment. I think the offending disk might be Disk2 as it has a rogue 100 meg disk I can not format or delete.

I use macrum reflect for cloning but also has a decent partition manager
Pull the disk power to check it's that disk causing the issue.

disk 2/3 are the pain ive got one hard drive with them on and windows wont touch them as ive tried

using diskpart and the cmd run commands still wont delete them

so in end i gave up as its not causing an issue to be honest

Just double checked it counts from 1 whereas windows counts from 0... one of them must be wrong. lol Although they are referencing the same drive. which I guess is a bonus!

Its actually random it seems . Its causing it to reboot 3 times and each time I have to wait 30 secs and counting up each time I boot...lol

Have a go with clonezilla live (it's open source), it runs from a bootable USB and is mainly used for disk/partition cloning but it has some strong partition tools too.

Nope free version.
Any cloning software should have the ability to resize and delete partitions/format. Be pretty useless without it

Is it? When I googled it it. Said boot star was from startools. I remember using it years ago but by God that was a long long time ago.

But I need to get Forte agent up and running to check my software purchased. All my old stuff is stored in Agent emails.

I had to stop using it as the latest hosts don't allow mailtraq as a mail server and I have not found a decent simple one yet.

gave up on windows after 7......now everything is Apple......expensive but oh so nice.....

worth the money not to have the stess of the W rubbish.......

will leave Apple when something better comes along.........mmmmmm
