Decided to finish a small piece of corrosion on the sill properly by cutting around the rotted area and making a patch plate that fits directly into the cut out area. All the prep went smoothly until my angle grinder just mysteriously dies.. never mind, i used the wire brush on a drill to finish any prep..

Welded one patch on the under side of the sill and then the MIG welder decided to die!

Not even bothered looking at the welder yet, just flung it back into the shed and tidies up, after resorting to tacking the repair patch down with the arc welder I shall use the lincoln mig in work tomorrow to finish the job.

Typical, the first proper job I ever take on and my equipment packs up!

I have/did, they were released from the holders and pulled right back out of the way.

Welder problem solved, the pcb had a solder joint that had some how been 'blown off' resoldered and its working great again!

Cheers for the tip, i normally just use a pump water spray to mist water onto the carpets and nearby interior, or remove seats and carpets for more involved jobs, luckily, never set fire to anything yet!

I rekon I was lucky on the repair to the welder too, normally capacitor like to blow or transformers burn out.

All welded up, just need the welds grinding down and the area dressing.

Might be worth looking at your power supply or any extension leads you are using if two items have failed that close.
