I need some inspiration on material storage

I've got a lot of plate and box section and other odds and ends, but no proper way to store it in an efficient manner. I'd like some inspiration. The more creative, the better!

Build your self some storage racks out of pipe scaffolding & clamps. You can simply make what ever changes needed as required in the future.

I have several bits of 12mm plate getting in my way, best place I found is under the duck board flooring that I use by the lathe.

If its all reasonably short offcuts these large steel stacking bins are good.

If so I would recommend a panel trolley

Very nice. Yes I have sheet, box, angle, bar, tube...

I've been using a stacking bin for all the small pieces, but the bigger pieces don't fit and end up scattered around, leaning against the wall, falling down etc.

The trolley's are a nice idea, just space is an issue in my single garage. I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way of storing it all. I have an idea of what I'd like, I just wanted to see what others have done. I'm having a real push to make use of the space I have as efficiently as possible. Over the past 6 months i've been trying to make it more usable - insulation, clearing out crap, reorganising, adding more storage, more lighting, more sockets etc. I've got 2 racks and more storage bins than I know what to do with. I'm now adding an extra workbench and filling up the walls with whatever I can. I'm tired of not being able to move around or having to rummage through a load of stuff to find something that isn't where I thought it was. I end up spending more time looking for stuff than actually doing the job!

if you want to improve a trolley then also use drawers as a layer as well

just remember weight with a trolley as better on a level surface at least it can be put out of the way when not needed or moved out of the way
