I'm new to this forum and hope to contribute greatly.
Right now, I have this ESAB Rebel EMP285ic that powers up, displays the menu with no errors. It allows me to go through the menu selecting sMIG, MIG, TIG & Stick, with no errors. It feeds wire and gas, but won't arc on any settings. I triple check both the gun connection and the ground. There is 45 volts between the ground clamp and the gun tip till the wire hits the grounding clamp, then it goes to zero volts with no arc. The service manual has a trouble shooting section for no power/no arc but it suggests that there is no voltage to the unit or the gun or ground isn't connected correctly. Again, there is power because I can go through the menu and the gun and ground are connected tight and correctly, plus it feeds wire. The gun and the grounding cable work great when attached to another EMP285ic.
My hope is that some of you tinker with your ESAB and can suggest other areas that I can check to get this welder working.
