i need help 2 minds

hey guys i have been offered a job as a boiler maker im currently a pipe fitters mate.
i love fitting but wish i could do more welding
this job envolves more welding but im not sure about fitting the guys i work with said they most lkely take me back if i took this other job felt a bit shock by that but i need help in deciding. could you guys give me a little help maybe if your a boiler maker or pipe fitter whats a good path.
job spec current
learning iron work love fitting iron pipe work but no chance to learn welding except by me teaching me through the fourm ect im not bad at plumbing or strutting out.
this job
if i generaly take interest they will invest time in to me welding i passed the test but i will have to learn speed i guess and how to read drawings. if it does go hurrendusly wrong i can go back with my father as a scrap murchant but if i could avoid that i would as its really hard work and i would rather earn my money from another source then my father.

well it depends on what you want to do
boiler making can be more money. if you get the right job, but then it can be dirty and you are working in all sorts of conditions.

boiler making you normally do pipe fitting and can allways fall back onto fitting if you dont like it

cheers for that i think its more they make new for mobile plant rooms so its more or less all clean work

ok mate i will just worried im not good enough to be fair im a ok pipefitters mate and we have all seen my welding im just worried about being back at dads a falier like but im gunna send my exceptence to day

Stop worrying mate,im sure you will be fine. And if it goes tits up,so what at least you gave it a go. You never know till you try.

Maybe others won't agree but you only have one life so I always tell my kids "don't chase the money" - do what you want to do and enjoy rather than a job that you don't like just because it pays well. I made that mistake (was Civil Servant until early retirement) and regret not following my dreams but going for a well paid job instead.

cheers guys for the response start on may 13th back with me dad at the moment as the guys i worked with decided to pretty much say f off as soon as i told them about the job. so two weeks of welding skips sorting scrap and waste and driving plant. then on words as a production operative in a boiler maker firm where if im good enough could lead to tig welding or making up mobile plant rooms. thanks guys for the support
