the owner of a mechanics garage I visit two or three times a day spent a measly £ 32000 on his tool box……..
And he only has 418 payments left!

This seller on Ebay deals in used boxes mostly Snap On, I believe they offer delivery?Bumping this thread as relevant! I've always wanted a Snap on rollcab I think they do make the best ones. It would be a used one, I wouldn't pay the new truck price!
I am looking at this one. Seller asking £1900. Bear in mind I am from NI too where this stuff is also dearer. Is that too high - the prices are all over the place and seems OK price to me

You'll always get the people who knock snap on as being expensive and saying that a hilti(or whatever) is better. Looked after a snap on box will hold its value better.I still have a really old top box , roll cab that are probably still worth the £100 each I paid for them even though I bought them 25/30 years ago and both being pretty poor condition.
Kind of reinforces what I posted, a snap on box will both hold its value and last you out.Something holding it's value is kind of irrelevant though unless you intend to sell it. It doesn't matter if it's a house or a tool box. It's value is completely trivial until you wish to sell it. I would rather buy a toolbox to last me out than worry about it's value if I where ever to choose to sell it.
Yes, there's enough room in there for small 140 amp inverter, leads, helmet and a couple of packets of rods.....Have you ever figured out what the cupboard is for?
I've killed 2 Snap-On roll cabs and 3 top boxes in 47 years of being a mobile service engineer, so they ain't that good...Kind of reinforces what I posted, a snap on box will both hold its value and last you out.

I think much of this comes down to the difference between “need and want”. Some of these roll cabs are now so big, that you need a tractor to tow them round the workshop if they are full.View attachment 499536
But this comes from the man - who if he wants a longer 1/2" ratchet will hammer or weld a lump of pipe onto one rather than spend money on a snap on van![]()
