i dont much like them, like eating snot
i do like scallops.I was quite disappointed by the flavour and texture. I just recently had scallops, fresh off the boat. Thought I was in for a real treat, a lot of people I know rave about them. Won’t be bothering again
there is a brilliant little cafe on skye that serves them with black pudding. Fantastic and cheap compared to down here.Well cooked scallops are ok, but I won't pay a premium for them

trick is to eat them raw ,,, all this cooking etc spoil them , and garlic is the ruination the flavors so delicate ,,I was quite disappointed by the flavour and texture. well done non the less ,,, its good to try new things , it broadens the mind ,,, try a raw Scallop next.Well, I survived the experience with no adverse reactions (so far).
Quite liked it, but not enough to go through the faff of shucking again (probably down to my inexperience).
Had it with a squeeze of lemon juice but didn't try the 'down in a oner' method. If someone prepared a few for me I'd eat them, but would never buy/order any in future to have for myself. Like some others ^^, I'm in the "take it or leave it" category.
I'm normally a big fan of seafood, esp scallops (will never forget the hand-dived ones I got from @4String.). This oyster happened by chance at the local fish van - I spotted the oysters and mentioned that trying them was on my bucket list, but I still wasn't sure...
Chap gave me one just to see.
Still, one more tick against the list!![]()

I can pick them off the sea bed and chuck them , then pop a reg out and eat them , still fining along happily . then again , Ive had a lot of practice.
they do bbq well though ,,, or try poaching them in milk . Clams not oysters , there are those who will eat muscles raw too , Ive tried but they are not my thing raw.
I once got given a sack of oysters and had basically three days to eat the lot ,,, I did , but I didnt eat another for a long while.

I can scoff a pint of whelks without any issues.
And never eat them when there is a 'day' in the week as in monDAY etc.Only eat ‘em when you’re within walking distance of the sea.. or the loo..
They were told they were oysters but in batter what kid could tell. What sort of school did you go to where you got oysters?![]()
