And it's even imperial!
OK, this might not seem much to you wizened old (and young) thread turners but this is the culmination of two lathes, a 3 phase motor transplant and a VFD, and I'm extremely chuffed with myself (even though it does look a bit rough).
It's a 1/2" to 1/4" adaptor for a microphone to fit a stand at (I think) 24tpi. Well, I actually measured it as 25 but my change wheels only do 24 or 26 so 24 won the flip of a coin! The fact that it's mating with a plastic socket defo helps the tolerance.
My first lathe didn't have the screw cutting leadscrew and its replacement has all the bits, but the single phase motor was a pig. Cue the 3phase motor, VFD, trying to understand the screwcutting gears matrix and then what needs adjusted at the back of the lathe and we're there!
I'm under no illusions that a rough cut aluminium thread mating into a plastic holder doesn't mean I'll be able to make my own swiss watch next, but it's nice to finally see all the youtube videos and learnings from on here produce a result
