Sandblasting smallish components or motorbike engines ectera,ectera.

To conatain the dust going everywhere(well minimise it),how about putting a clean wheelie bin on its side,putting component for blasting inside the wheelie bin and blasting,this also contains the sand for reuse again.

How about that?

a no goer if your using a pressure fed pot blasting in the air when it gets to the end it rebounds and blows it out with the media at the same rate it went in the bad bit is your on the receiving end. on my cabinet i use a woodchip extracta it can draw more cfm out that the jet can put in hence keep dust free

So it should work if just using a normal sandblasting pot to compressor? and put a hole in the bottom of the wheelie bin to compensate for the back force of the air bearing in mind the concentration of sandblasting will be on the job intended.

Shall I go back to the drawing board?

lol im not that rotten .its bad enough drilling a socket box in brick and blowing the dust out and it goes in your eye

what about cutting out the bottom of the wheelie bin, liniing it with a fine mesh and catching the dross in a bin liner....
or am i having a bad day as well !

You've got to get air flowing through whatever you use as a cabinet. You can't rely on the air coming out of the nozzle, you need an extractor (I also use a woodchip extractor) to create a high volume of airflow.
