If it's in mig mode with the tig torch connected does the button on the tig torch activate the mig rollers?

I think there are only 7pins wired on the spool gun versions, 2 for switch, 2 motor and 3 for pot
If the tig torch is also activating the rollers it might be a hardware solution rather than firmware?

Edit: 8th pin looks like a resistor. Might be bringing the mig drive in as it can tell from that which gun is connected?
Try the tig torch switch in mig mode

for those still interested, I am attaching the 3 user manuals and the parts list

you will note that there are 2 PCB a CE (Conformité Européenne) version and a CSA(Celiac Sprue Association) so I guess the US probably uses CSA and Australian probably CE

and the Australian manual makes no mention of spool gun so I guess I will pressure Cigweld in Australia more.

Hi how did you go with this?
I am in Australia and have a Rebel EMP215ic with a Tweco spool gun.
Attached are some photos of the settings and firmware/pcb info.
The instruction manual was not too good on the setup of this, there were none.
Originally the info I found on the web said as soon spool gun was plugged in it was set automatically but this was not the case, worked out you had to set advanced setting then set spool gun in parameters.

The issue was that even though the Australian and European models are the same they have different firmware, you will note that yours is listed on the firmware screen as EMP 215ic AU and mine EMP 215ic CE so I didn't have the option to select spool gun.

Back in April I couldn't get a response from the UK, and Australia couldn't help although the did take the time to respond and called a few times on the phone.
with Covid closing everything in the UK I waited until July and tried again, and eventually got to speak to Paul Woodford ESAB Marketing & Aftersales Manager in the UK, he couldnt be more helpful between him and Robert Lee Service Manager Arc Equipment, the came up with a solution.

firstly: For the gun to be “auto-detected” there must be a 10k ohm resistor (peripheral resistor) connected between pins 8 and 6 see diagram.
then it needed a firmware update, in order to turn on the gas solenoid E1.06.14.10 worked.

the machine was sent to Carl Sullivan @ Tecweld in Gravesend who was able to do the firmware update and changed the 8 pin plug to install the resistor.

I dont have a photo of the firmware that is installed but there were 3 files that were sent to carl

I think this firmware is from 2019 judging by the age of the files

any ESAB partner can do the firmware update.

I would have expected the resistor to be fitted into the spool gun. That way the machine can tell if the spool gun is plugged in or not.
If the resistor has been fitted to the welder side then presumably the machine will now think the spool gun is connected all the time even when its removed?

The 8 pin plug was changed not the socket. so a new plug was attached to the Spool Gun with a resistor, nothing physical was don to the welder, just updated the software.
