Had a close call today, got this on facebook from a friend.

Weird, I thought, but he's a good friend and I trust him so I was happy to help, he insisted I switch to WhatsApp and it progressed to this!

Hmm, I have the strangest feeling that's not really him.

The scammers usually get really angry when they think their catch is slipping away....had one this week for insurance renewal.

I told him I would call back...turned out it was genuine ...but safety first!

I generally ignore numbers I don't recognise...if it's important they always call back....and that's my work number

I heard a really good one the other day....bloke tried to buy an expensive car and pay via bank transfer...after asking the garage for an invoice to make the payment.

Almost got a way with it too....but then the selling garage got a bit suspicious and did some digging. Turned out the bloke had got the company details and then applied for the company Covid assistance. So basically the company was getting money it was borrowing without knowing it!

Dunno if it was true....very clever though. If there people are so smart they could make a bucket load of money by just applying themselves to proper work I think!
