Join an american forum like pirate 4x4(I know hes on that one) and e mail a chap called jim colt, hes a hypertherm engineer who happily answers tech questions.
Unfortunately the uk has very bad hypertherm back up, just the dealers who are really just shop keepers.
The 1250 etc were the last of the really good hypertherms so should be easily repairable
Thanks.
I'm not sure if the problem is in the plasma or lack of air. I have a small 25lit. tank compressor and I guess that's too small because a second or two after pulling the trigger it stops cutting and the lack of air led indicator lits up and the compressor kicks in.
p.b. - I'll follow your advise.
That'll be it then. They use a LOT of air. If the air led is showing a warning, you need to sort it. See the manual for a guide to the warning lights etc.
You don't need to email Jim directly, you can just contact hypertherm technical support by email, he'll probably refer you to them anyway. They are really excellent at helping sort any problems.
Sounds like low air pressure. Turn the current adjustment knob to gas test and set the pressure regulator to 70psi (4.7 bar). Once you have this pressure set turn the knob clockwise until it is set to at least 25amps and then try cutting
I did as per Plasmatech's advise, but unfortunately the problem still exists and I've changed the compressor. I've connected a 150lit@12 bar compressor but the outcome is still the same.
