Hi I'm looking to swap the 3 phase Weg 1.1k motor on my hydrovane hv01 to a single phase unit. Does anybody know the mounting type or have any links to motors?
Also am I better installing a 1.5kw unit?
over the years I've always gone bigger HP even on 240v stuff...example 1HP motor gets replaced with 1.5 or 2HP depending on how much work it will do.....once upgraded I normally keep my machines for life....
think on ur project u'll need to be up at the 2hp level....
3phase motors pack much more punch than their single phase equiv....
As you say not the best but as far as I can see it's a 90S frame and I'd bet a B5 mount but I can't tell from the plate. (don't know Weg's numbers)
Have you have a photo of the whole motor and the size of the flange and bolt centers to be sure. You also need to take the motor off to confirm the shaft size (which will probably be 24mm diameter.)
I would get the biggest you can get in the frame size, but even a 1.5kW would help, because three phase motors are just more efficient.
They even have a 3HP 2800 rpm one on special offer that would fit and as @premmington said, will give more air, but I don't know if the pump could take it.
I just bought that motor for a 3HP piston compressor and it draws 5 amp when running so I think the motor should be ok.
I would see if Hydrovane do a version with the bigger, faster motor before going down this route.
If you don’t need twice the air stick with the slower motor.
If you get a foot mount Weg one cheap, you could probably fit the flange mount you have, but if not why bother.
Thanks for the link and Info will use them for sure. My measurement was from the centre of the two top bolts if that makes sense?
I'm a little confused, when looking at motors earlier none of the b5 motors had feet.
