i sandblasted my house one weekend . all the sand came from redcar beach carpark the councill planning guy left his card askin to talk to me i thought i was in for it . turned out they were impressed about the job i made and wanted a price for blasting some paint of a listed building . errr errr i think not . dry blasting with silica sand i dont think they would be impressed

Try to avoid blasting nowadays too, unless i have no other work at all, then it puts notes in pockets. Best thing I did was a CoalBrookeDale seat with 'bout 20mm paint on it, turned out to be really detailed and worth £1900 quid. Satisfied customer.

yup i know poor buggers no air fed breathing helmet there, i knew a guy that worked as a fettler in an iron works died of silicosis it was sickening to hear him breath

I have the next size up from that hydrovane and its the nicest compressor I have owned. Really quiet and great air delivery. Parts are cheap enough for them. But there are a few rules you MUST stick to with them. Use the correct oil which is the Hydrovane specific pink stuff for general workshop use. You MUST get it up to heat which is a minimum of 65C at least once a week, even if this is done by just making and venting air. This basically means running it constantly for 1hr. If you do not do this then you will mayonnaise the oil and knacker the compressor. Service the filters every year with OEM.

Mine delivers a true 11cfm at 140psi constantly. I use it for all my air tools, my blast cabinet and spray guns, plasma cutter etc. and can't fault it.

Where's the best place for parts, I need the little BLOWDOWN VALVE FILTER( oilreturn valve) Item 44 in picture, just been quoted £35 for this little filter.
