Hydraulic valve symbol

I have a hydraulic valve (solenoid) and am unsure if I am reading the symbol correctly or not.

This is it.

What I think is

At rest the A, B, P and T ports are all connected so no pressure at all on any lines.
When left is operated P and B are opened and return flow is A to T
When right is operated P and A are opened and return flow is B and T.

Is that correct?

Thanks, now all I need to do is work out if the other bit is a relief valve and if so what pressure it blows at
Will have to get the sandpaper out to see if I can read it.

be very handy if its a flow divider though.
pop a cap off and look inside. no adjuster so Prob a flow divider ,,, handy.
were you expecting a x line check valve?

Yeah, I've never seen a hydraulic drawing before but that just looks like a simple symbol. Is there a book or guide to what it means?

Probably will be somewhere but it just seemed logical to me that that was what it meant. Centre panel showing off state.
Left showing state when that side was operated and right side when it was.

Try a parker hanifin catalogue , its a wealth of information , probably spelt wrongly by me though.

Hydraulic symbols are defined by an ISO standard: 1219-1:2012

look for hydraulic symbols legend, standard symbols are used throughout. just like electrical, welding , just a different set of symbols. easy enough.

I have a garage press.

The ram is single acting, presume spring return.

The pump however is knackered, tried to get seals a while back but they didn't last.

I also have this.

So I was thinking of hooking it to the press but will need to get a blow off valve at the very least.
