Rams are usually a piece of cake in my experience.
Crack the cap loose with it still on the machine or firmly in a vice - they aren't always tight anyway - pull the rod out. Big socket to remove the big nut/bolt holding the seals packs in place with the rod eye in a vice and then it's just removing seals. Be very careful to note which way they fit, take photo's if there's any risk of making mistakes.
Take the rod and seals, housings etc to a bearing supplier and the clever folk behind the desk measure what you need and come back a few minutes later with the goods. Plenty of oil all round on assembly and make sure not to damage the seals and it's job done, very straightforward and rarely difficult.
I use FPE seals in Doncaster, next day delivery and they Will usually have 99% of stuff in stock, and if they don't have the seals they can manufacture or get them in a few days. A quick Google will find the website and contact details, they also have online reference books which ( if you are so inclined) make excellent bedtime reading.
I do half a dozen cylinders a month and they have not let me down yet
Edit; just out of interest what are the cylinders off?
