Junk.
We have this one http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=272155751578&alt=web in my work and to be honest its pretty good. We have done hundreds of wheel bearings on all sorts of cars and vans and its always got them out without any fuss so I would recommend it
yes nice epco like you say more money and at a dealers ,too much for me at the moment
but just down the road from me I will go have a look this week , just looking at what I cant afford
I wouldn't recommend the type that uses a sort of upside down bottle jack, save a few more quid and buy one with a proper hydraulic ram, if you can get one with a "name" on it so much the better but they all seem to be made on the same Chinese production line these days. I bought my little bench top 10 tonner second hand and it's never let me down yet.
I press built up cranks together and apart on one, but I had to weld in stiffeners to the frame as before it tended to wind up and twist out of shape out the box. And that leads to a tendancy to fire things out the side, very dangerous indeed. I made a press tooling chuck too, because it started to mushroom the pushing point on the press during heavy loads.
Yes they are rubbish, but I've made mine work for what is a relatively heavy workload. I'd still swap it for a decent old thing in a flash though.
