Morning all.i am looking for a fairly cheap hydraulic press folks.been looking at the ones on Temu & ebay (20T).anyone bought one of these at all,and whats your thoughts.will very rarely get used tbh.

I'd buy a used one.....plenty about for not a lot of money....
go for the biggest tonage u can get allowing for the footprint u have / want.......

I agree with get one 2nd hand, I found one not too far away on fbm. 20T (possibly) generic Chinese (probably) & so far it's done ok but as you mentioned, it's not used often enough to merit huge outlay.

I bought a cheap ebay 20 ton press about 15 years ago

it needed shimming to make the frame line up and help prevent twisting but that only has to be done once

It was the sort with a car jack in and the chinese one it came with failed almost immediately, fortunately the seller replaced that with a draper one which is still in use today

it has coped with everything that the family have thrown at it. One son hit the job to start a reluctant bush moving when it was cranked up as hard as we could make it. That bent the "pin" and the cross bars that support the job. A replacement pin was fitted and we have lived with the cross bars as a reminder not to hit things that are under a lot of pressure

Nobody wants to stand near to it when it is cranked right up but it has definitely paid for itself and the "crack" when a reluctant bush or bearing starts moving still makes us jump

also very useful for bending bits of metal (not just itself)

I've updated the recent thread with my experience of a 6 ton Vevor press from Amazon. In short, good value, works ok on bushings but I would say get a second hand bigger and branded one if you can.

I just got done doing the rear wheel bearing from my 2016 tacoma......used my home made 20 ton press, and it used all of it.
Went off with a bang.
The instructional video I watched used a HF 20 ton cheapy press, No way would I do that.
