looks good thanks for link, may try it in the pop up roof with the condensation.
well it would be a lot easier to sound proof inside the van rather than the engine bay itself as theres better access & your not having to work inverted, would it be as effective though?dynomat is stupidly priced though! and heat dissipation I'd use something like extra ducting if possible or just keep the sound deadening away from the engine bay. I.e. inside the van not on the bonnet interior or firewall
thank for some tips ,one concern is with a fan cooled engine ,am i going to compromise heat dissipation?
I want to stop the air -cooled engine noise commotion. It depends what effect you're after.
Do you want to stop the panels droning (singing) when driving? If so you want some mass damping which should be ~50% coverage at the middle of any large flat panels.
If you want to stop air-transmitted noise (wind noise, some road noise which conducts through the suspension mounting points etc..) then you want some closed cell foam like has been suggested.
For damping mat I use this stuff as it's very good quality and is not bitumen based. I use the 4mm stuff as it's about mass not coverage but the 2mm has its uses: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/silent-coat-mat-bulk-pack.html
