Basically heat to red, quench in water or oil, polish then temper using the colours. You need to decide which way to compromise, harder blade means more durable edge but more likely to chip or break, but softer will need sharpening more frequently. Probably somewhere in the purple/blue area. Also how did you harden and temper the blade
Im away this week and was planning to have a go when I get home. Couple of weeks ago I picked up a small kiln/furnace that goes up to 1800 c, itching to give this a goBasically heat to red, quench in water or oil, polish then temper using the colours. You need to decide which way to compromise, harder blade means more durable edge but more likely to chip or break, but softer will need sharpening more frequently. Cut it of with a bacho saw. draw knifed it to a blank put it in boiled linseed for a couple of weeks.
I like the way it turned out .
