It’s possible that the new cam wasn’t faulty, but the fault that caused sudden failure of the twenty year old original cam suddenly is still there and killed the new cam in short order
With a roller follower it should have done better.
More investigation me thinks
To get it going id build up with weld , work out lift then blend in.
This may last but at least get production going
If its just a shaker with no particular timing duration maybe a eccentric will do the job.
