So I have some conveyor type things that need putting together.
The rollers sit in a piece of 'u' channel.
The rollers are round bar with sealed ball bearings pressed into each end and the bearings are flush with the ends of the rollers.
I would like to fit spacers to each end of the roller to stop it moving about from side to side in the channel.
My excellent drawing shows this clearly
(end view on the channel, black bits will be the spacers)
I can find some washers that fit the gap perfectly however they are proving to be a pain to fit and get them lined up then get the bolt through and its taking too long to fit them.
I thought it may be quicker to drill the holes in the side of the channel to oversize then put the spacer over the bolt (so spacer the length of the gap + the wall of channel) and use some big washers under the bolt head/nut to keep the spacers in place.
This will mean I need to get some spacers made up though so I thought some of you lot might have a better idea on how to do this?
I'm trying to think of some type of easy to make/use tool that would hold the washers in place while I put the rest together. Currently I need one hand for the roller and one for the bolt so nothing left!
