I thought you all might like to see another body going together, this time on a new truck ( hence all the new fire blankets ) Scania S590 rigid flatbed, fold up rear bumper and drawbar hitch.
Bought in ready made body chassis members with all holes done as per our drawings, then lots of sawing and tacking the whole thing up, on my days off another fella came in and welded all the top bits, on my first day back I got volunteered to do all the overhead welds, first bit of weld I twig the gas bottle is emoty, six inches of weld later the mig wire runs out!
Turns out the new fire blankets can be holed pdq with the arc/sparks from the plasma cutter.
Then we get tech specs from Scania and have to add another 400mm to the front of the body chassis to pick up on the front truck chassis mounts, which then neatly supported the headboard gussets.
