How to weld a stove top rack

hey guys,

new to the forum so g'day everyone,

i have just purchased an older type camper-van but the stove and
oven racks are missing so i have decided to have a try at making my
own, i have collected some racks from here and there and now want
to mod them to fit the stove, i haven't tried welding them yet just want
to get some info and tips before i do if i can, what i will be welding is similar
to this link http://www.tmrep.com/images/050020.jpg any help will be useful
but i have a feeling that they probably will just melt and being stainless steel i dont know (welding Xp low)

More likely to be chromed mild steel if they are from a cooker.

thank you pedro you are right being mild steel so i gave it a hit and
seems to tack up fine with the welder on lowest setting and wire speed
around 13 using a Uni-Mig 240
