How to undo ring?

Suggestions anyone?

If you're looking to replace it I think I'd make up a tool:

Remove wiring and banjo bolt
cut a bit of card to fit hole and push on it to get impressions of tabs
transfer to a thickish piece of steel
weld a socket in the middle and try that.

Meanwhile I think id get plenty of penetrant in there.

Just my 2p, maybe someone else will have a better idea!!

It is a fuel pump, held in by a metal retainer ring.
Can't budge it with drift and hamster nor 3 legged filter tool. Stuck solid

Doesn't look like you've tried! Tap with a brass punch and a hammer would probably be my first choice. 3 legged oil filter removal tool might also do the job if you have one. Wouldn't buy one just for that though.

I always find hamsters go a bit soggy after the first couple of blows. Use something a bit firmer, like and aardvark or tortoise

Tried both ways with both tools.

Had breaker bar on filter tool with gentle pressure, sure i heard it saying "seriously, that the best you got?"

Sometimes if you put as much pressure as you dare, then change direction and do the same, over and over it'll go.

It'll shift eventually!!

Duct tape with hamsters. Prevents bursting. I was told by a friend!
