Ive made three large screens.
30x30x2mm box frames, with a skin of 1.6mm mild steel seemed around the edge. They were clamped down while welding and left to cool before inflaming.
They have all set with a slight curve.
Bummer. I doubt it will matter to the customer or if they would even notice.
But I'd like them straight.
I've tried supporting the ends and bouncing on them, no joy and I'm wary of overbending them.
Plan A, clamp them flat and run a head of weld along the back. Let it cool and grind then polish the weld out.
Would this work?
