Balcony side rail? Now that would worry me. I tried to set my son up in business before he was old enough to appreciate life/work or even know what he wanted out of life. (It failed) but the insurances were not only a joke but some were impossible to get due to his age. It seemed like the only thing left was bashing grannies over the head......or that's how it felt. ...a couple of issues with customers trying it on decided it all for me.Exactly.
That's my position and I fully understand that it's not going to work for everyone.
No I don't but I'm not daft and take precautions where needed. For example this railing I'm building has been agreed according to a contract and one of the agreements was I'm not fitting it nor am I responsible if the person who does fits it in a way that someone falls through it signed by them. It's not a chin up bar or a support beam etc etc. Yes it's not pl but it dose hold up should the worst happen. I've also made sure it's built well within up to date regs. Certain things I won't take on (wheel repairs) certain things I won't worry about (brackets, light duty stuff) and certain things I'll do but get some points down in writing and signed.
