How to; measure damaged shims

Suggestions on how best to measure these shims. Showing burrs to the edges and pitted with damage. I only have flat anvil mics, and mity very nears.

I did think sandwiched between two bearings, but a faff to setup/hold

roll the burr's down with some heavy round bar....I use a bit of 4" dia St/ST....then there shoud be somewhere to measure.......
always diff tho......even harder to get replacements.......

Can you pick a few spots on each with the least pitting/burrs and take an average?

I always used to "iron" non perfect shims, Place them on a nice flat hard metal surface and rub all over with a smooth face of a lump hammer, Used to do this too after cutting new shims to flatten out the cut areas and edges,

Turn a couple of small buttons and superglue them to the anvils on a digital mic or caliper. Close up the mic and zero it. Now you have narrow anvils.

Remove with acetone when finished.

What size are they , inside and outside diameters? There may be off the shelf shims available? Classic Mini ball joint shims perhaps?

Thanks for the replies. @Pete. thanks, don’t know why I didn’t consider superglue.

@gordon stephenson. I’ve had a set of those on a list for long enough. Going build an order for Arc euro trade, they have lots of little goodies that don't cost much.

@Melvyn Best, I can machine up a single to replace the 4. I thought I taken a good reading, looking at them again, that was not the case.
