As above, my current work place have had a request from the neighbour at the end of the drive to secure a pair of bollards to protect their fence from wagons making deliveries.
I hadn't been part of the original discussion, but have been asked to fix them into concrete.
The concrete part I can handle, but, the base and shaft are separable, I've been told they're adjoined with "breaking bolts", basically M10's cut half way through.
The extended nuts are welded under the base, not great welding from the looks of things but being powder coated hard to rectify now.
What would others recommendations be for a bolt that needs to fail at the head if struck?
I "think" the idea behind this is so if the wagons hit the post they snap off without causing damage to the wagons, but before the wagons hit the fence...
