Does anyone else here have a shaky hand like myself ,i was wondering when welding pipe to plate etc and there isnt anywhere to rest your hands ..how do i steady my welding ,how can i improve
Pulse mig ,but the bench is too low down, theres nothing to prop on and the actual plate itself is 10-15mm from the boss so i cant prop on that either hahaa iv managed to weld it but no where near as neat as id likeMIG? TIG? Arc?
You have to prop
MIG and stick you can support the hand holding the stinger with the other hand, or even support the rod itself (I'm no expert stick welder so I loosely hold the rod itself until halfway burnt)
TIG - you prop using fingers, wrist, chunk of wood, clamps, basically anything you possibly can use... inside fillet welds you can drag the cup, or you can short-cut all of this and just learn how to walk the cup like a pro (a skill i cannot for the life of me pick up). Your little finger gets a bit of a workout once you learn to use it all the time.
I was just curious to see it isnt just me hahahaYou'll find some way of propping. Otherwise you'll just have shaky welds forever. Or develop superhuman steady muscles...
First rule of welding - get comfortable. Don't just point a mig gun at something and pull the trigger...
