im thinking of an idea from what was said earler in the thread of filling it with a slip of wood im thinking of putting a blunt knife in to the wood to make a gap for the wood to push down and cut a slip of wood from the lefovers i have got with a stanley knife about the right lenth and glue and tap in there
any thing wrong with this that was sojested early in the thread just a bit of a spin on it to make it easy
If you're going that route, clamp a guide to it and run down the join with the circular saw else router. That'll give you a straight and consistent width gap. You can use anything as an infill if you're making that a feature, as it doesn't need to blend in with the appearance. If the halves aren't already securely jointed and glued though, you'll likely still have problems later down the line.
