Hi,
I'm planning on making some 3" stainless and mild steel exhaust components soon, but I need some advice on how to cut the pipe correctly and at the right angle?
I've seen pictures of exhausts that have been TIG welded and where a particular angle cant be bent, they have a kind of angled section of tube welded in place, I've also seen this to make tight bends on manifolds etc.
So my questions are:
1, How to do mark the pipe to get the correct angle?
2, What tools do you use to cut the pipe?
3, How do you hold the pipe in place to tack weld it
4, If you want to weld a pipe into the side of another pipe, how do you cut and mark it out?
Bearing in mind this is DIY on limited budget. So any suggestions on the cheapest tools/machines to do the job would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Paul.
