How to connect gas to CK17

Hello people. I have recently sold my cebora 180 and aiming to get a Thermal Arc Fabricator 181i
No questions for MIG but as for the TIG I already have a CK17 with a Superflex cable and the gas line inside it. So the Thermal Arc doesn`t seems have a gas outlet for a TIG. How do I connect the gas to this torch ?

I think you will find that,on the front of the machine you will have a 3/8 BSP connector ,this is Gas/Power

There is no gas outlet on the front of the machine. I am guessing I will have to hook it up straight to the gas regulator.

It looks like it's lift arc tig so you would need a torch with a gas valve and an adapter to go between the torch and welder to connect directly to the gas cylinder.

You are bang on,the machine you have has the posh word for scratch start which is Lift Arc.I suggest you would need a Gas/Power connector D3595-1-1 the gas pipe will go straight to your Argon supply,also a valved Tig Torch would be needed,might I also suggest a Flowmeter on the regulator you would help.Torch to -ve earth to =ve

Thanks for your help. Yes I do have my CK17 with the Gas/Power connector and I have a pedal too. But my torch doesn`t have a gas valve so I suppose I`ll just connect the gas hose to the regulator. Will be opening the gas bottle just before I weld and closing it soon after finish. THis will not be the most economical way but better than buying a whole new torch

You could look at buying a torch head only with a valve,this should fit your existing power cable

I have one of these that I used with a 17V torch. The gas hose connects directly to the regulator and you will need gas valve. Its not an easy unit to use in TIG mode. Its a terrific MIG and ARC welder and I use mine all the time. I bought the Thermal Arc 202 ACDC unit for TIG which is terrific although I am going to put a CK small torch on it.

I have my main TIG machine is R tech ac/dc 200 amp so, primarily I needed a good mig which I believe Fabricator 181i will be. I wouldn't be using the TIG option on it all that often anyway but still was looking at the ways to fit my ck torch to it.
