Second hand I would consider do you want a drill or a potential project.
I bought second hand and I really like my Elliot 1s but parts are hard to get and it may need some work for an older drill. Some people like that and it’s nicer to have a drill you have put some work into but modern drills are good enough so if all you care about making holes I would get the best you can modern one. If you like solid machinery that will last forever and want to do a bit of work take a bit of risk then weighs a ton second hand solid is the way to go.
