Hi all,
I'm quite new to welding and am looking at building one of these as my first project once I get my hands on a Gas MIG welder and get a few hours practise on scrap metal.
I already have the muffler box, so I just need to retrofit it to my car and measure/cut/tack weld the pieces of mandrel bent pipes to it for proper fitment.
Question: Once the muffler is mounted in place, how do I hold the pieces of pipe to it in order to tack weld them in position? I can just tape them together, cut out a section from the tape for the tack weld and start tacking, right?
Sorry for the dumb question.
