Most angle grinders have a lock button so even if you let go of it in the event of an incident the chances are it’s still going to be running.To be honest I don't see it being any more dangerous than a normal chainsaw or angle grinder.

Watched a video on youtube earlier, the bloke holds it by the grab handle while it’s running to reposition the log he’s cutting, one unfortunate bump could be catastrophic.

My angle grinders spin at 8000+ rpm, how will a chain saw react at that speed?
I doubt it has a gearbox, for £17
Chainsaw engines are almost double that when flat out so I doubt that's an issue.
