I dont expect the guarantee to be for 10 years but id expect the machine to be working in 10 years. Does plasma cutters have more problems than welders and be more of a throw away item.Don’t think you could even guarantee a Hypertherm for ten years.
I got my Chinese cut50 in December 2014. It worked for a few days then failed. Luckily I was able to fix it and it's not faltered since.I've read of all the Chinese scrap plasmas sometimes not even working when new. I want something reliable but wondered how far you need to go up the range.
Of course its not going to be guaranteed for 10 years but it doesn't mean it has to blow up before that.
For example is the tec arc 56 better than cheap Chinese or just the same.
Is the ifl Chinese.
Do I need to go as high as a jasic to be sure of quality or any other recommendations.
At about £60 a year on oxygen bottles its too much for all i cut.
But if a £800 Plasma cutter has a life expectancy of about 4 years then that's costing £200 a year so it wouldn't be any cheaper.
sorry not even welders last 10 years even opn depending on there usageI dont expect the guarantee to be for 10 years but id expect the machine to be working in 10 years. Does plasma cutters have more problems than welders and be more of a throw away item.
My mig welder is about 20 years old and going strong and my father's welder is probably 50 years old and still being used.
I do expect it to be in storage more than usage. Its only for farm repairs, machinery, equipment, handling facilities etc.sorry not even welders last 10 years even opn depending on there usage
so the same is going to be said for a plasma cutter
infact even on many tools nowadays no tool will last 10 years and hasnt in over 20 years now
so if you think it will expect it to be in storage more times than usage times
but if you think it will sorry to say dream on

The bulk of my tools are older than 10 years and I earn my living with them.sorry not even welders last 10 years even opn depending on there usage

thats the point old stuff did last where on about new stuffThe bulk of my tools are older than 10 years and I earn my living with them.
My daily welder is a Castolin mig which I bought off my best mate. He is 54 now. He did his apprenticeship on it and it was the ‘old’ one then. I have put dozens and dozens of rolls of wire through it in the years I’ve owned it
I have a Air Liquide mig which is 20 years old.
There’s plenty of gear that will last. Modern stuff doesn’t seem to last as well but not sure if that’s more delicate innards or just build quality has slipped. I think the OP can expect to get 10 years from a lightly used plasma if it’s cared for. 5 and 7 year warranties are about so the manufacturer must think that way also. I think Rtech is 5 if you pay for it and jasic may be 7 but not sure
You said welders don’t last 10 years and no tool will last 10 years. Just saying plenty do.thats the point old stuff did last where on about new stuff
