have you got anywhere on this then @AdrianH
though on looking wouldnt it be better going higher than 2" so you could use 2" bar trimmed so it can drain out easily under the slats on top of that you could use a barrel underneath so it could be drained then pumped back into the table for cleaning/collection of off cuts that have fallen in
