How Much Mark Up

Fabing some stainless covers for a machine. nice easy job but how much mark up do you usually put on materials?
A mate sticks 35% on i think thats a bit much and put 15%

My old boss used to vary the markup to how much he thought he could get away with - bit of a problem when I had to quote spares prices when he was on holiday!

its a way of hiding a bit of the labour costs mine varies depending on current cable prices

ive been lucky as my main customer usually sends me the materials.
just shelled out £180 for a sheet of stainless, so theres that plus ?? on top of labour.
