Guys. I'm going back into pro spraying after a long break. I'll be assisting in building and running an oven based shop dealing predominantly in classics. Can anyone give me rough guide to hourly pro labour costs currently please.

Local Merc dealer Charges 125 +vat an hour ,, the mechanics dont earn that ,,, hard to go by staff hourly rate to cover the costs of running a shop.
Ah , your at paying , and Im at charging ,, its that bit in the middle that has to do all the work .It’s why I posted up salary costs
Personally I charge £25-30 an hour for bike paint - mainly tanks. Theres welding, brazing, soldering, other engineery type work plus normal paint type work. When i first started on this journey i was quoted £40 an hour for someone to paint my own bike tank, hence why i learnt to do it myself. i only have the odd push back on price which is fine, i'm happy to wait for the next person who is willing to pay for my time and quality.I'm at charging. A good hourly rate to the customer across the bodyshop labour costs

The guy I use is the guy who does a LOT of insurance work on mid to high end cars, he's very, very good.
Quoted me £1400 for a full external respray on a sports car if I did some of the prep work - taking bumpers and doors etc off. This was 8 years ago? Probably up near £1700-£1800 now.
But he can afford to charge that much, because if you want a good job, he's the man, and if you want a a bit of paint thrown at a car on the cheap, go elsewhere.
