No, because it'd be nigh on impossible to prove who did what and when. Especially to a Land Rover as they're basically big Meccano kits and easily modified, but also because you're lucky to go a couple of months without something falling off, or needing to be replaced/welded.

I can't remember the ins and outs of the case I mentioned, but from memory he hadn't done anything 'wrong'. IIRC the main thing that they jumped on was the lift kit he'd fitted as they (rightly) said it made the vehicle unstable on the road at speed when cornering. The case swung on the fact that he couldn't prove his competence either in fitting it, or understanding the changes to the vehicle's geometry and handling.
I imagine he felt bad enough having killed the kids whether he was at fault or not.
Sounds like you need to go in the trade.....step up and be the low cost king !local garages often charge around the £200 plus parts

When I supply parts it's cost plus 10 - 15% depending on what it is. That's to cover warranty repairs as even if the part fails and I can return for a claim I've either got to strip at my cost to find out, or swallow the cost if it's too short a time involved to go through the ball ache of claiming.local garages often charge around the £200 plus parts

I explain verbally and in writing that customer supplied parts (new or SH) mean that there's no warranty.
There are some weird exclusions on mine. I can't fit parts sourced from China, Korea etc but if they're made there and sourced here then it's OK. I can't supply SH parts, but I can fit them if the customer does.

best laugh is they hand the work to the low down offce staff 20 quid an hour topps i do work for a local solicitors outfit with about 20 staff 6 of em solicitors . i stick a bit on the billsMy solictor is £300 an hour plus VAT = £360

That's to account for the skill level (and therefore cost to the dealership) of diag. tech's, it'll come as no surprise that no manufacturer pays retail rates for warranty work - nor actual time taken.I was surprised when I was told that dealerships charge a higher rate for diagnostics. I imagine both customers and the JLR warranty dept are overjoyed at that idea.
