Yep its a great site , and try some of the old favorites , maxi , allegro and the likes , the numbers are shocking.

Don't forget this is based on DVLA data, and specific model names are just down to what the person filling in the initial application for registration put on the form. For example, you'll see "Audi A4 s-line quattro" and "Audi A4 quattro s-line" as separate models. So it can give an approximate idea of numbers, but it's all with a pinch of salt.

Interesting, have used it before but forgot about it Just looked at Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ's. There are 17 Laredo TD that are currently taxed and 158 declared SORN, 2 of those declared SORN are mine and they are for the chop

TBF: it didn't cost any more than you'd reasonably expect to pay for a nearly 20 y/o car - but a grand for new clutch + flywheel just after £400 for handbrake cables + £300 for front suspension rebuild was one step too far.
I sold it for parts, and put it towards the clutch money which gave me just enough to buy the SX.

I'd been spoiled by 8 years of Lexus ownership - took the volvo for MOT, and told tester "I've got a 400 mile trip this afternoon in it".
He said "what if it fails?"
I'm like "shoot! I forgot cars can fail MOTs"
(It didn't, TBF: I keep up to maintenance, not just for tests)

I'd never have bought it if I thought I'd ever get a sportcross - but they're a bit "rocking horse" especially in my budget, and in auto.

Not mine, though, I managed to get it upside down in a field outside Penicuik. Called my dad to ask him to bring the landy and a trailer cos "I'd broken down".
When he arrived he stared at the car for a few seconds before saying "Scott. For the record.... that's not broken down, that's crashed"

Certainly a useful website but I find it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt sometimes. The models don’t always align properly so it seems like there are only a handful of certain models when in reality there are lots more because it’s been called something slightly different. Not always the case but something worth remembering!

SORN was introduced in 1998, so 'how many left' is not an accurate gauge for old vehicles that have been stored, pre-dating that time.

Conversely, many V5Cs still 'exist' for stuff long since scrapped. Try it out on your past motors, using GOV MOT history (if you're sad like me...)

Lol. Like my neighbour, phones over asking if I had some jump leads for his Vauxhall v6 estate. So over I go, jumped the Vauxhall, off it went. Left it ticking over. He told me “we’re going to London in this tomorrow”, had it checked over in the garage today - the oil light is a faulty pressure switch.”
Sure enough, it was flickering.
Now I don’t believe in co-incidents, so I blip the v6 a few times -sure enough, there it is brrrp, brrrrp. “Not in this your not” I say. “Why not?”
“Well listen to it” brrp, brrrrp, clunk.......
