How is this for a weld

He doesn’t like the offerings from the likes of weldtech,ck or weldcraft. He likes the ergonomic handles with the set in buttons.
I don’t think the torch manufacturer is the problem here I think it’s just a case of he needs to stop pulling that neck about so much.
I’d stick with what you like ref the parweld pro grip but go for a rigid neck and just live with it. I’ve used rigid neck torches for years.

Yes I like the Parweld handle and dislike the round style handles.
I think I would struggle with a rigid neck, maybe when I was younger and more mobile I could contort round bits to get the welds done but not nowadays, today I almost killed myself trying to squeeze down the side of a shooting table with one leg hanging under the rail and over the side of the boat whilst balanced on a fish box If I had not had the flex neck of the WP26 I don't think I would have managed. Then again if I had welded the bleeding bases on the rail at the correct angle when I made it in the workshop yesterday I probably wouldn't have had to contort myself today

One of these wibbly wobbly head types you use Richard may have done me but the handle is not what I like or I would likely have had one by now.

Could you get the correct shape handle for you, 3d printed or moulded to fit on any torch?

I have recently picked up a newer binzel mb24 kd and fits so much nicer than the old mb25. So may even be worth taking a mould and making your own out of composite.

I’m not sure. I’ll measure up the neck later and let you know. They are very very expensive

Yes but watercooled ones have more copper pipes and they are smaller so probably more susceptible to cracking and also as Richard pointed out earlier the heating and cooling process may make it worse.

The issue is what you want is 3 part numbers. It’s gonna be about £140 plus vat. Maybe more.

Couldn’t say. Both have there good points. Roto is cheaper and has bigger scope on the angles. Ball joint is much more like a normal wp20
I hated the roto when I first bought it. Just couldn’t get on with the obscure head angle but perseverance and 2 weeks of not giving up on it I grew to love it. It’s excellent now. It’s not like holding a normal tig torch. You’ve got to start again doing the same job but Holding a different tool. Once you adapt it’s an extremely versatile torch.
Ball joint is just genius. It gives you the advantages of a flex head on a normal torch with out the weak point. You can’t bend it as far as a flex torch but you get plenty of angle adjustment. The problem is unlike the roto head the ball joint is made up of 2 parts. The ball and neck.
The roto head is 1 part and a locking screw.
I’ll dig out some prices I got in my email for you to compare.
Don’t forget which ever you go for you’ve got to buy the removable head.

They are serious amounts of cash when you consider what you can buy for £212
However I ain’t just saying this cos I own one they are by a clear mile the BEST torches money can buy. I’ve had weldcraft and ck. both very good but both are not a patch on weldtec. I’ve had 4 now.
I’d still have my original one if I could learn to stop selling and buying machines.
Im a sucker for a bargain AC/DC
