Replacing the filler neck on this well used fuel tank. I want to keep the tank as is but the cap shown in the picture just lifts off and the neck is a bit chewed up. I can put a belt round it for now but would like to get it sorted long term.
a 2 inch filler neck is less than a tenner. Id get someone else to do it as I don’t have an AC tig and my welding isn’t good enough.

Very doable if your new is slightly bigger diameter!

I had the filler neck moved on a tank once as it was on a chopped scooter and could only half fill up the tank. A bodyshop moved it higher up and filled the hole, did it by brazing.

Welded a few just block all the other holes and fill it with water.

if it's a steel tank, complete brass bases and screw on caps are available from tractor parts suppliers.....
that what I'll be using on my rebuilds this next year.......mine will be just soft soldered....
alloy tanks, dont know.....
